One rainy day in Venice I wandered into the church near our hotel to wait for our group. I stopped in a side chapel and made a tiny little sketch - just a couple of inches square and a few lines. Several years later I pulled out that sketch to see if it might turn into a painting. The title of this painting is "Capella", meaning Chapel, and "Convergence" referring to the convergence of the perspective lines at the focal point of the painting. In the architecture of churches I see a convergence - a coming together - of heavenly and earthly space.
